About this series

Is humanity autonomous, or are we inextricably linked? In an age where the individual stands at the center, we seem increasingly unwilling—or unable—to truly connect. We cherish autonomy, yet carry a deep longing for togetherness. It is an ambivalent relationship marked by attraction and aversion, yearning and resistance. We build walls to protect our own space while secretly wishing someone might cross them.
This tension is visible everywhere. Technology and globalization reduce physical distance, yet rarely create true proximity. We sit together in cafés while staring at our screens. We travel far to “find ourselves,” attending retreats, ceremonies, and breathing sessions in search of authenticity. But perhaps this relentless focus on the self is precisely what obstructs connection. The ego demands attention, even as we long for the other. It is the paradox of our time: never has the need for connection been greater, yet intimacy feels increasingly elusive.
In my photographs, something lingers that resists explanation—a presence suspended between closeness and distance. Some images evoke isolation; others feel like tentative attempts to move nearer. The snail recurs as a metaphor: slow, exposed, carrying its home while leaving a fragile trail behind. These trails resemble the winding paths of human lives—intersecting, overlapping, yet rarely converging.
Through my work, I explore the fragile space between autonomy and connection. Rather than offering answers, I invite the viewer to inhabit this tension and discover where they stand within it.
