A Heather Burn

Mat Hay

 2014-2021 — Scotland

About this series

Created in part to resolve a missing connection between the photographer and his home country, A Heather Burn represents a seven-year exploration of the rural communities and altered landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. Revealing the imperfections and reality of the present, it shows life on the cusp of isolation, and the bonds between the people, their animals, and this rugged environment.
