2013 – Ongoing — Yemen, London, UK
About this series
This series presents different stages of the photographer’s life, from his hometown Sana’a in Yemen to his current base in London, UK.
Through experimentation, recorded observation, memory and imagination, the photographer attempts to reflect life’s dualities. The work featuring the clouds, “Lalaland”, aims to portray a perfect state of mind – a utopian perspective on oneself and the world around them. Attamimi’s penchant for clouds have been reflected uniquely in his photographs – in the artist’s words “clouds were the ultimate addition to this photography series to personify positivity, imagination and a perpetual dream like state”. Attamimi attempts to take the viewer of his works away from the limiting beliefs imposed by society’s invisible barriers and export them to a disposition of freedom and tranquility.

Amr Attamimi is a Yemeni self-taught artist, born in 1990. He created his first photographic artwork in 2010 when he fell in love with artistic expression through photography and the ability to share it with people locally and online.
Ever since Amr has received unwavering support and encouragement enabling him to liberate his passion and curiosity. Through various stages, he has gone through several explorations in art and developed self-expression through his dreamlike and contemporary style.

His work has been exhibited in Yemen, Emirates, Kuwait, the U.K., and the US. He has been featured in publications including Le Monde, Al-monitor, and others.
Amr moved to London, the U.K. in 2015 where works as a Consultant. He continues his journey of self-discovery and expression of personal identity through art.
