Riturné

Mauro Curti

2019 – 2023 — Italy

About this series

Riturné (Come Back in Piedmontese language) is the attempt to maintain and preserve a living connection with a past that is becoming history. Freezing small fragments before they melt, because everything is impermanent.
This project was born out of a desire to see the province of Cuneo, in the northern Italian region of Piemonte, in a new light after many years living outside the country.
Riturné examines the relationship between man and territory, personal conflicts, family and belonging. It is a representation of the reality in which I grew up complete with its people and their beliefs. The everyday and ordinary life, without geopolitical boundaries.
Memory, absence, home. What is gone and what will eventually also disappear.
