About this series

I’ve always been fascinated by cults and their leaders to such an extent that I sometimes dreamed about starting a cult of my own. Over the years, I have tried and failed to understand why I am so fascinated by this topic. When I was a child, I fantasized about what kind of person I might become. My idealized self-image was deeply influenced by art and (pop) culture. In spite of the fact that my fantasies didn’t become reality, I still indulge in them from time to time in order to create an alter ego for the part of my personality that is filled with self-doubt, fear of failure, and melancholy.
