About this series

In this series, I tell the story of my family beginning with the murder of my father and the discovery of a criminal background.
On the evening of October 29th, two criminal groups met to settle scores, and the fight ended badly. Two people died. One of them was my father. I never knew what his real job was.
I was waiting for him that night, but he never came home.
After my father’s sudden death, my family never discussed what had happened. Growing up with too many questions about him, I researched and explored the facts: I searched his papers, found files, pictures, letters from prison, and rediscovered people who knew him.
Through photography, I am learning more and more about what happened and my father. Using images from public and family archives, my own memories, and contemporary photos, the project combines archival and contemporary photographs. “Non sei più tornato” (“You Never Came Back”) depicts the life choice of a father who has been killed through the eyes of a little girl.
